The Ministry of Justice held its Easter Service on Wednesday, 16 April 2025, at the Level 1 Conference Room, bringing together staff from across the Ministry, joined by officers from independent agencies, in a moving celebration of faith, reflection, and unity.
The Service served as a moment of spiritual connection and collective purpose for staff of different faiths—united by the shared values of selflessness, humility, and service. These were the central themes echoed by the Minister for Justice, Hon. Siromi Turaga, in his address during the Service.
Quoting from Isaiah 53:5—“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our inequities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed”—the Minister emphasized that the values embodied by the life and sacrifice of Jesus Christ are ones that transcend religious boundaries.
“These values of humility, selflessness, and service are foundational not only to our spiritual lives but also to the work we carry out each day for the people of Fiji,” said Hon. Turaga. “Easter reminds us that our work must always be grounded in compassion, integrity, and a desire to uplift those we serve.”
Staff of the Ministry came together in a spirit of unity—not only to remember the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross but also to proclaim that His sacrifice has not been in vain. The Service was a powerful reminder that Christ’s resurrection brings us into closer relationship with God, and this relationship must be reflected in every aspect of our lives, including our professional service to the Fijian people.
The Ministry of Justice extends warm wishes to all Fijians for a blessed and joyous Easter season. May this sacred time bring peace, renewal, and a reaffirmed commitment to service and compassion.
