August 27, 2025The Minister of Justice and Acting Attorney General of Fiji and his delegation today participated in Day 2 of the Global Forum on Intellectual Property (IP) at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, convened by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) as part of the Regional Dialogue on IP and SMEs in Asia and the Pacific.
The Forum, themed “Value Creation through IP: From Intangible Assets to Strategic Growth,” featured keynote addresses by WIPO Director General Mr. Daren Tang, alongside global innovators and SME leaders from Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Discussions centered on how intellectual property can drive enterprise development, competitiveness, and sustainable growth for small and medium businesses.
Fiji’s participation underlines the Government’s commitment to strengthening its intellectual property framework as part of broader justice reforms. These engagements will support national efforts to modernize legal systems, promote entrepreneurship, and create new opportunities for Fijian SMEs in the domestic, regional and global economy.
