January 29, 2026The Minister for Justice and Acting Attorney General, Hon. Siromi Turaga, and the Permanent Secretary for Justice and Acting Permanent Secretary for Women, Children and Social Protection, Ms. Selina Kuruleca, accompanied by a team from the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), visited the Fiji Public Trustee Corporation Pte Ltd (FPTCL) yesterday.
During the visit, the delegation met with the FPTCL Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer, and senior managers, who provided updates on the organisationโs work, performance, and key operational challenges.
While FPTCL operates as an independent trustee and executor, the administration of estates often requires collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, particularly through legal registries such as the Registrar of Titles and the Office of the Registrar-General. Discussions highlighted opportunities to strengthen coordination, improve the timely transfer of documents, enhance title searches, and support more efficient data sharing.
Hon. Siromi Turaga reaffirmed the Ministryโs commitment to working closely with FPTCL to address these challenges and improve service delivery for the people of Fiji.
Currently, FPTCL administers more than 1,400 estates valued at approximately $77 million, serves as trustee for 6,891 trust funds valued at $9 million, and holds over 5,000 Wills.
The Fiji Public Trustee Corporation Pte Limited, a Public Enterprise corporatised in April 2006, provides professional, affordable, and accessible estate and trustee services to Fijians. Its core services include Estate Administration, Trust Administration, Estate Planning, and Legal Services.
The Ministry of Justice acknowledges the important role FPTCL plays in safeguarding the interests of families, beneficiaries, and communities, and looks forward to continued collaboration to strengthen governance, improve service efficiency, and better serve the people of Fiji.
