November 26, 2025Fiji’s first-ever Justice Summit 2025 concluded successfully in Nadi yesterday, marking a historic milestone in the nation’s journey toward a more accessible, efficient, and people-centred justice system.
Hosted by the Ministry of Justice with support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), the Summit brought together key representatives from across the justice sector — including the Judiciary, the Office of the Attorney-General, the Fiji Law Society, Bose Levu Vakaturaga, law enforcement agencies, civil society, and development partners.
Over the course of the Summit, participants engaged in thoughtful dialogue and shared valuable insights on the Final Report on the Functional Status of Fiji’s Law and Justice Sector and the Law and Justice Sector Roadmap for Reform 2025–2029, both officially launched during the event. The discussions underscored the sector’s collective resolve to strengthen institutional collaboration, uphold the rule of law, and ensure that justice serves every Fijian with fairness, transparency, and compassion.
The launch of the Roadmap marks a defining moment for Fiji’s Law and Justice Sector — one that transforms shared aspirations into concrete steps for reform and renewal. The Ministry of Justice expressed its appreciation to all partners, stakeholders, and delegates who contributed to the consultations, provided invaluable feedback during the Summit, and reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the next phase of the reform agenda.
As the Summit concluded, the Ministry reaffirmed that the success of the Roadmap will rely on continued collaboration and the enduring spirit of solesolevaki — the shared effort and shared purpose that unite government, civil society, development partners, and communities in building a justice system that truly delivers Justice for Every Fijian.
The Justice Summit concluded with the commitment from the stakeholders to sign the Justice Summit Wailoaloa Commitment 2025.
